Description
A propaganda poster using symbolic imagery to depict supposed prosperity as a result of the first five year plan. The phoenix and bale of hay denote a plentiful harvest whilst the dragon and steel furnace denote rapid industrial growth. At the time the poster was produced, millions were dying of starvation as a result of the Great Famine.
