Subject

Three Principles of the People

Description

Sun Yat-Sen conceived one of the founding political doctrines of modern China: the three principles of the people known in Chinese as minzu, minquan and minsheng (nationalism, the rights of people and people's livelihood). This video explains the background to the three principles and the legacy of Sun Yat-Sen's thought in greater depth. It should be noted that the principle of nationalism was achieved by the overthrow of the Qing Dynasty but Sun would not live to see the achievement of his other two principles as he passed away in 1925.
